Biography
Erika Toda (b. 2001) is a guitarist from Japan whose musical background spans blues, jazz, rock, pop, and Latin. She began playing guitar at age nine and later started playing professionally in Japan after studying with Motoaki Makino beginning in 2019.
In 2022, she moved to the United States for an exchange program at San Francisco State University, where she expanded her musical community, explored Afro-Cuban music, and studied with bassist Michael Zisman. She is now based in New York City, graduated with a Master of Music degree at New York University Steinhardt where she studied with Peter Bernstein, Adam Rogers, Drew Gress, and Rich Shemaria.
Erika has shared the stage with musicians including Karl Perazzo in San Francisco and Gen Ogimi in Japan. In New York, she leads the duo project ChotoLoco with drummer Alon Benajamini. ChotoLoco has released “Umi” (August 2025) and “Catosphere” (October 2025).
戸田絵理香（born 2001）は、ブルース、ジャズ、ロック、ポップス、ラテンなど幅広い音楽的バックグラウンドを持つ日本のギタリスト。9歳でギターを始め、2019年から牧野元昭に師事した後、日本でプロとしての活動を開始した。
2022年、サンフランシスコ州立大学への交換留学プログラムに参加するため渡米。現地で音楽的なネットワークを広げ、アフロ・キューバン・ミュージックを探求するとともに、ベーシストのMichael Zismanに師事。現在はニューヨークを拠点とし、NYU SteinhardtにてPeter Bernstein、Adam Rogers、Drew Gress、Rich Shemariaに師事し、2026年春にDegree of Master's of Music を取得。
戸田は、サンフランシスコではKarl Perazzo、日本では大儀見元らと共演してきた。ニューヨークでは、ドラマーのAlon Benjaminiとデュオ・プロジェクト、ChotoLocoを率いており、2枚のシングル『Umi』（2025年8月）と『Catosphere』（2025年10月）をリリースしている。
